  Did you ever think about being persecuted?

  i was introduced to the jw religion at the age of 7. i can't recall when i was taught about having to suffer persecution in the so-called last days, but i do remember thinking that i would crumble under pressure.. as i entered my young adult years, i imagined how governments would persecute us.

  i had thoughts of being tortured for information and then how i would say anything to the torturer just to stop the pain and then be labeled a modern-day judas, missing out on everlasting life.. the jw way of life and expectations are both scary and unrealistic.. i am glad i have canceled armageddon.

  also, if i should ever be tortured for some belief or principle, i shall remain strong until the end.

  I'm James Mixon's son and writing my thoughts for my father:

  I, vividly, remember sitting in the Kingdom Hall on a Thursday night, listening to speakers scare us with tales of persecution in Mozambique and Malawi - Beheadings with machetes, rape of women and children, and executions of adult males. We were told it was due to Witnesses being "faithful", but, in hindsight, with a more realistic view of the world and history, it obviously had more to do with ethnic cleansing and tribal war. Funny, that they could equate the viciousness of a third-world Country with what we could expect, as Witnesses, in America.

  Not me but my kids had nightmares. It makes me ill thinking about what we put our kids through. Yes one day you mom may be raped, I may be beheaded....It's amazing that you adults today that were raised in the borg have come out it sane, evil spirits, watching your mother and sister being raped, no place to hide and bad nightmare for a child. What the hell was wrong with us, what kind of parents were we...

  Living with Your Parents Well Into Adulthood the Norm?

  there's no shame in struggling and staying with your family until you're back on your feet.

  Vanderhoven7; If the child is working and have a goal it's great to be there for them, cost of living is a lot different from when I was young. It's rough for young ones especially if they were raised in the borg....My son a project manager for a large electric firm, but paying 2000 a month for rent makes it hard to save for a down payment to buy a home.

  mayushil: I also live in a part of USA where median rent is outrageous so I came up with a plain for my son. I'am investing in real estate, I will take care of the down payment and we split the mortgage payment. After 3-5 years and hopefully property value continue to increase, we can sell if the time is right or he can buy me out and keep the property.

  My JW Sister Called Me Last Night

  she's a full on active jw and actively shunning me like the rest of the family are.

  i dont quite know the reason why she felt last night was the right time to call but im glad she did.

  My rules for my sons before they moved out (in their 20's) First I made a contract, outline terms, expectations, time limitations and all aspects of sharing space that potentially impact others. Rent will be paid, even if rent is low,token". Because I was single raising my sons I guess the figured, humm a nice pad for three single men, until I told them no overnight guest, go too a motel..I made sure they realize an end must be kept in mind, staying here is not indefinite.

  Scientology special on A&E tonight with Leah Remini

  i'm not sure where it is airing elsewhere, but on the a&e channel, at 7p then again at 10p est tonight, leah remini is doing a scientology special.

  it looks to be a great show.

  i am not sure if it is one time, or the beginnings of a series.

  What will humans look like in 1000000 years?

  ok, the bible is a fascinating book of fairy tales, so we move on..e. zolfagharifard, some guy states "humans will be very different creatures in just 1000 years from now due to climate change,artificial intelligence and genetic mutations are all set to transform our bodies in drastic ways.

  a mixture of biology and machine on the inside.

  this is only 1000 years from now, what the hell will humans look like in 100000 years????
